My Story
Hi! My name is Yasmin Dadollahi, and I am a registered dietitian, hence Yas Da RD! I am an anti-diet, fat positive dietitian living and working in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Growing up in an Iranian family, I learned food is a big part of our culture. Not only is food vital, it is a way we express our love. Seeing how food connected us peaked my interest in learning more about food, nutrition, and how it impacts our health.
At our family gatherings, there was often a lot of diet talk, which made it hard to enjoy all our delicious foods! This left me and my family feeling guilty about what we were eating. We felt terrible about our bodies. It began a cycle of dieting, losing weight, eventually gaining it back, then back to dieting.
Through my training and experiences, I found intuitive eating and learned how to listen, trust, and honour my body. I have learned that our cultural foods offer so much tastiness, love, and lots of nutrition. I now enjoy eating ALL foods, including many of our Iranian dishes!
I support clients develop a positive relationship with food and enjoy all their favourite foods, including their cultural dishes, without stress! If you feel ready to stop the dieting cycle and enjoy all foods without guilt, Iām the dietitian for you.
